Key West Florida fishing
At the most southernmost point of the continental United States (attached by bridges) is Key West Florida. An island by nature, yet still connected to the mainland by modern technology. To get a better perspective it is only 90 miles to Cuba. More commonly know to the locals as the Home of the Sunset. The geographical location being so far south changes the diversity of the entire Island. A warm weather retreat for all the snow birds ready to fly south for the winter.

Island City House Hotel

The Island City House Hotel is the oldest operating guesthouse on Key West. This intimate guesthouse has the feel of the home you wish to have as your second home. The property is split up into three separate buildings consisting of the Island City House, the Arch House, and the Cigar House. The Island City House is a three-story Victorian mansion with a wooden banister and veranda that wraps around the building. The building was built around 1880 so it still retains the old fashion characteristics. After a magnificent restoration the house transports you to a time when the world moved much slower, but you have more time to take in the beauty around you. There are 12 suites varying from one to two bedroom spacious parlor style with elevated ceilings giving the room more light and breathability. The décor is of simple lace curtains, hardwood floors, Victorian antiques, and many of the rooms come with a private porch furnished with couches and tables for entertaining guests or a quiet relaxation lounge area.

The Arch House

The Arch House was originally a carriage house to the main house, but with a few minor touches has been transformed into a two story house with 6 suites with the look and appearance of a Caribbean plantation. Designed with an arch to allow the cool offshore breeze to blow through the corridor. The interior is decked with hardwood floors, wicker furniture, soft white maple walls, and fauna leaves ceiling fans.

The Cigar House is a red cypress wood house styled after the Alfonso Cigar Factory consisting of 6 spacious suites. Tucked away nicely in the back garden with the pool and sauna on other side. This is the ideal location for pool activities with the view of elegant flowers, fauna, and palm trees for the natural green tropical covering from the sun. All suites offer modern amenities with among other things fully equipped kitchens with stove top, microwave, refrigerator, and cooking utensils.

A mere three blocks away is the marina to catch a ferry to Fort Jefferson (Dry Tortuga National Park) or to Fort Myers. Also, in the same marina is the dolphin watch tours. Surrounding the island is a cornucopia of water sports. There are many boats nearby willing to take you snorkeling or scuba diving to see the amazing coral reefs, shipwrecks, and a kaleidoscope of fish. You can also find parasailing, wind surfing, water skiing, fishing, jet skis, and wave runners. Nothing though is more precious than the evening sunset at the water edge that will be a permanent picture in your mind.
